Class Description:
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines martial arts, dance, music, rhythm, and acrobatic movement. In this class you will learn music, instruments, movement techniques, acrobatics, and you will have the opportunity to practice your skills in a live capoeira roda as well. We welcome students of all levels and backgrounds, no prior experience is necessary! We recommend training barefoot, and wearing comfortable clothing (pants are better than shorts).
Teacher Bio:
Contramestre Corpo Fechado began training Capoeira in 1999 at the age of 11. Upon graduating from UCI in 2009, Corpo opened his first Capoeira school in Irvine, CA. In addition to Capoeira, Corpo is a skilled martial artist in other disciples including Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai.
